Explorer Scouts is the section for 14 to 18 year olds, where the adventure is taken to the max and it is easier than ever to explore on a global scale.

Explorer Scouts take the lead in what they do, taking part in camps and expeditions at home and abroad, going on ever bigger adventures and having fun with their friends each week.

Explorers can also work towards the top awards Scouting has to offer, such as the Queen’s Scout Award, and start the road to giving something back as a Young Leader.

Explorers in our district

There are 5 Explorer scout units in our district: Lyndhurst, Magellan, Cerberus, Relentless Sea Explorers and the Young Leader unit.

Every year the Explorers in our district join up to enjoy some big events each year such as the annual quiz, Christmas events and the Eagle Trophy night incident hike.

Explorers also take part in bigger events with other Explorers from across Hampshire, the UK and the world. These have included in the past the Kudu night incident hike, the national Winter camp and the three-yearly Suisse Adventure to Kanderstag International Scout Centre.

Explorers often take part in expeditions including the opportunity to take part in the regular District Expedition. Explorer Units are supported by Andy Chatwin.
