Changing lives, giving young people skills for life and helping them reach their potential. That’s what we do. If you want to find out more then you’re in the right place!
Our District, our community.
New Forest North is a growing district filled with hundreds of scouts across six groups, five explorer units and a scout network. That is even before we mention the many dedicated volunteers who make scouts happen on every weekday night in our community and who support our young people to be the best they can be.
Covering the suburban town of Totton, right through to the open country of the magnificent New Forest national park and the villages around it, we cover a diverse area. Our oldest group has been scouting for over a century, even if our district has only existed for 35 of those years. We are growing every year, but there are always more who wish to join but aren’t yet able.
If you can help us, then please get in touch. There is a role for nearly everyone from helping with our sections through to working behind the scenes so get in touch to discover the opportunities.
Scouts across the UK.
Across the UK, Scouts offer fun, friendship and life changing adventure to nearly 450,000 young people. We make a positive difference in our local, national and international communities. We help young people learn new skills, make new friends, gain confidence and reach their full potential. It’s what we do. This is all made possible by over 100,000 adult volunteers.
Scouts include presidents and prime ministers, explorers and entrepreneurs. They have climbed Everest, stood at the South Pole and walked on the moon. Scouts are also teachers and social workers – the people who make society work. They are all united by common values and their promise to help other people.
Scouts can only run thanks to our amazing volunteers who willingly give their time to help the young people of our area reach their full potential. They’re office workers and parents, public servants and retirees. All from different walks of life but all who make a difference.
From those in uniform who work with our young people and those that support our section leaders to those that don’t have to don the necker, such as our administrators and trustees, they make such a difference.
